Important Usage Tips

  • Let your provider know if you have an allergy to doxycycline (or other tetracyclines) so as not to have an adverse reaction.

  • Q Care Plus only prescribes and ships doxy-PEP at the same time as your initial PrEP or refill prescription.
  • Do not share your medication with others.
  • Regular STIs testing is important to detect infections that may occur without symptoms.

Responsible Use Guidelines

Q Care Plus is committed to improving the sexual health and general wellness of LGBTQ+ community members. We recognize research is ongoing to evaluate the known benefit of this approach in HIV PrEP users and people living with HIV in reducing STI rates, weighed against the known and yet-unknown effect of this intervention on bacterial resistance and the microbiome. The Q Care Plus initiative involves careful prescribing, judicious refills, and consistent patient counseling. We are engaging with investigators to evaluate our initiative’s effectiveness in reducing incident STIs along with other implications.
